Steve Levack, Founder & Partner.
Steve is a firm believer that great accounting starts with great relationships. Steve built The TaxForce with a different vision (not just numbers) one rooted in listening, understanding, and helping people achieve their goals. Clients trust him not only with their finances, but with their aspirations and dreams, and Steve considers it a privilege to guide them toward both. When he’s not meeting with clients, you’ll almost always find Steve outdoors. Whether he’s skiing, surfing, hiking the cliffs by his cabin, or simply disconnecting from devices to recharge in nature, being outside is his happy place. At work or on the water, Steve is driven by the same mission: help people move forward with clarity, confidence, and the right numbers to back their decisions.
Caitlin Lawrence, Partner.
Caitlin has been part of The TaxForce team for more than a decade and last year became a partner. She loves working closely with clients to build plans that support them today and continue to make sense five, ten, or even more years down the road. Helping people prepare for tax needs, retirement, estate planning, or long-term goals and watching those plans come to life is one of the most rewarding parts of her work. Caitlin believes tax and accounting should feel approachable, not overwhelming. Her philosophy centers on a holistic approach: collaborating with clients and their advisors, explaining things clearly, and taking the time to ensure every plan is fully understood. Outside the office, Caitlin loves spending time with her family, walking the dog, going to the gym, and focusing on health and wellness. Being present with her family is her biggest priority and the way she recharges for the work she’s passionate about.
Scott Loucks – Staff Accountant.
Meet our Staff Accountant, Scott Loucks!
Scott enjoys the challenge of corporate work, investigating issues, making adjustments, and bringing everything together into well-built financial statements and tax returns that clients can feel confident about. Scott also appreciates the positive culture at The TaxForce, crediting Steve and Caitlin for creating an environment that’s supportive, engaging, and filled with great people who make every day enjoyable. Outside the office, Scott enjoys spending time with his fiancée and working on home projects. He also loves camping and is a big sports fan, with a special love for hockey. He plays golf and pickleball, hopes to get back into hockey, and likes to unwind by playing video games.
Develin McAstocker – Senior Staff Accountant.
Meet our Senior Staff Accountant, Develin McAstocker!
Develin finds real fulfillment in helping clients through challenging situations, whether they’re behind on their taxes or need support organizing their books. He enjoys working through complex problems and describes his work as a puzzle, one he’s always satisfied to see come together. Outside the office, Dev enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, whether they’re going out for dinner, watching their favourite shows, or playing games together.
Taylor Paiva– Junior Accountant.
Meet our Junior Accountant, Taylor Paiva!
Taylor spends much of her time reconciling accounts, organizing financial statements, and preparing tax returns so they can build on clean and accurate numbers. She is sharing how much she’s grown since joining The TaxForce, especially learning to work with real client data, including “shoebox of receipts” situations, and turning it into a clean, finished product. Those experiences have strengthened her problem-solving skills. Outside of work, she loves staying active. In the warmer months, she enjoys long outdoor walks, and during the colder months you’ll usually find her at the gym. Lately, she’s also been enjoying going to the movies as a way to disconnect and relax for a couple of hours.
Ayan Shaikh – Junior Accountant.
Meet our Junior Accountant, Ayan Shaikh!
Ayan shares that one of the things he has enjoyed most since joining the team is being able to apply what he’s learning in his professional studies to real client work. Turning theory into practice has made the learning process more engaging for him and has helped him grow in his role. He also talks about how much he enjoys working with numbers and technology. For Ayan, combining both to solve practical problems is something that keeps his work interesting and motivating. To stay organized, he follows structured plans and checklists, double-checks his work, and asks questions whenever needed. Supporting the team, contributing where he can, and seeing the positive impact of that support is what he finds most meaningful in his work.
Taylor Dennis – Bookkeeper.
Meet our Bookkeeper, Taylor Dennis!
Taylor understands how much time proper bookkeeping can save business owners. He explains that accurate bookkeeping isn’t just data entry, it requires consistency, careful review, and a strong understanding of how each entry fits into the bigger financial picture. His work ensures that clients can focus on growing their businesses while their books stay clean and organized. Taylor appreciates being part of a team with different perspectives and open collaboration. Working closely with the accountants helps him see how his work supports the entire process, from day-to-day entries to getting clients’ tax returns filed more efficiently. Taylor enjoys spending time outdoors. He likes taking walks, visiting museums, and learning new skills whenever he can. He also enjoys golfing and fishing when he has the chance.
Sarah Bird, Office Administrator.
Meet our Office Administrator, Sarah Bird!
Sarah plays a key role in keeping everything organized behind the scenes. She explains how she built the document-tracking process the team uses every day, making it easy to know where client files are at every step. She also writes internal procedures, manages online storage, and takes care of formal mailings, creating a smooth structure the whole team can rely on. She shares that one of her favorite parts of working here is the atmosphere. The team is calm, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable to be around, everyone knows each other’s strengths and works well together. Sarah loves spending time with her family. She has two daughters, a great husband, and a golden doodle who believes he’s a lap dog. She enjoys reading, good coffee, and traveling whenever she gets the chance.
Marley Prescott – Office Administrator.
Meet our Office Administrator, Marley Prescott!
Marley loves being the connection between clients and the team. She shares that getting to know the people we work with is one of the best parts of her role. Because she’s often the first voice or face that clients encounter, she takes care in setting a warm and professional tone from the very beginning. Day to day, Marley keeps the office running smoothly by staying proactive and anticipating what both clients and staff may need. She appreciates the positive atmosphere at The TaxForce and feels confident recommending the firm because she believes in the team and the standards they uphold. Outside of work, Marley is a busy mom of two boys. Most of her free time is spent driving them to activities, tying skates, cheering from the stands, and keeping up with their fast-paced schedules.
Catalina Gaviria – Marketing.
Meet our Marketing Support, Catalina Gaviria!
Catalina leads the marketing efforts at The TaxForce, working on social media, digital campaigns, and the website to help the team connect with clients in a clear, friendly, and human way. Since joining the firm, she has learned how powerful it is to communicate with honesty and warmth, and how much clients appreciate content that feels simple, real, and easy to understand. Catalina enjoys telling stories and showing the people behind the numbers. She focuses on creating content that supports clients, answers their questions, and makes the services feel more approachable. Outside the office, Catalina spends most of her time with her family. She has a teenage son. They love exploring new places, going on little adventures, and taking their dog out for walks. She also loves dancing, it’s one of her favorite ways to relax and recharge.
